Sweet Potato Fries...or Cancer Fries?

Last week I tried making sweet potato fries for the first time and they turned out PERFECT. So, tonight I wanted to try it again. I cut them, peeled them and seasoned them with salt, pepper & olive oil and then put them in the oven at around 180° C (356° F). I have been checking in again and again but they never were ready so I turned up the heat a tiiiiiny bit and came back to check 15 minutes later. Well, when I came back my floor mates had already turned the oven off and told me to be more careful next time, cause if the fire alarm had gone off I would have to pay 500 €. Well, that was a fail haha.

Oh, also don't mind the crocs. I know they are the most horrible looking kind of shoes, but they are SO comfy! Anyways, back to the fail fries. As you can see they are not completely burnt, so yes, I am eating them right now and they don't taste too terrible. As an advice to you guys: don't turn up the heat too much and leave, it's a bad idea. Not that my Mom didn't already teach me that...

I know many Americans have already had sweet potato fries, but to my European friends: get your hands on some sweet potatoes and try it! It's a nice change to the usual potato fries we get here. And don't let them get burnt. I'm so mad at myself for letting that happen. Oh well haha.

Hope some of you try it and don't let the fire alarm go off while doing so!

Katie Lynn :)
